Best New Product In The World of Pilates Equipment
by Bob Hannum Dec 2, 2013
Recently invented by my friend and Method Pilates founder Joan Breibart, this is the best Pilates innovation I’ve seen in decades! I use it myself and prefer it to free weights or wrist and ankle weights, because it provides resistance in every direction and not simply against gravity. It takes a little getting used to at first with the straps and bands, but this slight annoyance quickly passes. It took me only one Pilates session to feel comfortable with it.
As described by Joan, “Tye4 is a sleek, wearable resistance/assistance system designed to assist alignment and correct biomechanics. It’s easy to use: slip it on, adjust the banding and bungees to your size, and you are ready get more from your Pilates workout. If Joe Pilates lived to work with today’s modern bodies, we’re confident he would recognize the need for the support and structure that Tye4 provides.”
It’s well made and durable. One size fits all – adjustable for any body type. It comes with it’s own light-weight and machine-washable mesh bag with a convenient attached tag to write your name on. The bungee straps are infinitely adjustable to create greater or lesser resistance. The nylon straps are also machine washable – there is nothing cheaply-made about this product. It will withstand constant and rough use. $70 plus shipping.
